Is it possible to disable Bluetooth on Sekonda Smart Watches?
It was unclear from research whether it was possible to disable Bluetooth on Sekonda smart watches so I sent a message to support.
“Sadly, these watches (except Alpine) rely heavily on connecting to your phone via bluetooth to pull through the correct time, date and messages to the watch. For this reason you will be unable to turn off the bluetooth on these watches. All of our watches do have a ‘Do not disturb mode’ which will silence the watch when activated. Therefore, it comes with great disappointment to inform you only the Apline smart watch will fulfill your current requirements.”
However, I have attempted to find specific instructions on how to disable Bluetooth on the Sekonda Alpine and I am unable to. It specifically states ‘The Sekonda Alpine smart watch app needs Bluetooth to function correctly. Turning off Bluetooth on your phone will prevent the app from working.’.
Disable Bluetooth on Sekonda Alpine’
If I search for this, there are multiple results that come up, such as:
To disable Bluetooth calling on a Sekonda Connect or Motion Plus smartwatch, you can turn off the media and call audio. You can also disable calls and texts by using the Do Not Disturb (DND) mode.
Steps to disable Bluetooth calling
- Swipe down on the watch home screen
- Select the phone symbol
- Turn off the media audio and call audio
Steps to disable calls and texts
- Swipe down on the watch home screen
- Select the DND function, which looks like a half moon
Whilst this mentions Do Not Disturb mode disabling certain features, it does not confirm that Bluetooth will actually be entirely disabled.
There is also a question which people ask:
How do I turn on Bluetooth on my Sekonda watch?
You can find your watch’s Bluetooth name by swiping down on the watch home screen and tapping on the i symbol. Select the correct Bluetooth name from the list to connect to your smartwatch. Once your watch is paired with the HitFit Pro app you can synchronise the data your watch records.
This mentions ‘turn on’ Bluetooth so you would think that ‘turn off’ would be opposite of this. But it sounds more like this is how to connect to a device as opposed to actually enabling/disabling the Bluetooth functionality.
I have found no conclusive information or evidence that Bluetooth can be disabled on any Sekonda smart watch.
